What to Post in GTA 6 Launch Week: A Day-by-Day Plan for Small Channels

Updated October 4, 2026 · 6 min read

In GTA 6 launch week, a small channel should post short, specific answers to what new players search for, one narrow video the big channels skipped, and Shorts that point back to those videos. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Below is a plan from Day 1 (November 19) to Day 7, plus what to prepare before launch so you spend the week publishing instead of setting up.

First, pick two: first, best or fastest

A small channel cannot be first, best and fastest at the same time against big channels with teams. Pick two and let them shape every day of the week:

  • First and fastest: many short, narrow answers, each published the day you find it, with a plain edit. Fits if you have free days and a tested routine.
  • First and best: one narrow question a day, tested twice and explained clearly. Fits if you have two or three hours each evening.
  • Best and fastest: fewer videos, each the clearest answer on its topic, posted a day or two after the first wave.

Before November 19: get ready

  1. Build a search list. Write 30 to 40 question stems with placeholders: "How to unlock [FEATURE]", "Where to find [VEHICLE]", "Best [ITEM] to buy first", "Fastest way to [GOAL]". Use YouTube search autocomplete and what players asked about the previous games.
  2. Run a capture test. Record 30 minutes on your console with any game, move the file to your editor and export a minute. Fix problems now.
  3. Save templates. One thumbnail layout, one description with a chapter list, one end line that points to your next video.
  4. Clear console storage. No file size has been published, so free as much space as you reasonably can.
  5. Pre-load if you can. Rockstar says players who pre-order digital versions can begin pre-loading on November 12. Physical copies, which contain a download code, also go on sale November 12.
  6. Block your time. One fixed slot per day for the week, and tell the people you live with.

Day 1 (November 19): play, record, note questions

  • Record your whole first session. Keep the radio low.
  • Write down every question you have as a new player. Those are your search titles for the week.
  • If "first" is one of your two, publish one short answer video the same day, with the question's exact words in the title.
  • Post one Short from the session: one tip, under a minute.

Day 2: the narrow angle the first wave skipped

Big channels own the first hours. Small channels tend to do better with what comes next. Look at what the fast videos covered, and list what they skipped or rushed: one area, one system, one comparison with the previous game. Pick one and make the most organized video on it.

Day 3: two search answers

  • Record two answers from the top of your list in one session.
  • Give the short answer in the first 30 seconds, then show the proof on screen.
  • Make one Short from each video and end it by pointing to the full video.

Day 4: one planned session

Plan the session in three lines: the goal, the challenge that makes it hard, and the payoff at the end. Record it, or go live if live is part of your channel. Write down the timestamps of the three best moments while they are fresh.

Day 5: cut it into a video and Shorts

Cut the goal segment into one video with a title, a thumbnail and chapters. Cut three Shorts from your timestamps, post one and schedule the rest. Shorts are the front door: each one should send viewers to a long video.

Day 6: the more complete video

Pick the question that came up most this week and make the most complete answer to it. Give each step or item its own chapter so search can send people to the exact part. If it needs another session, post a Short from the footage today and finish it tomorrow.

Day 7: a viewer question and a review

  • Answer one question from your comments, and say in the video that a viewer asked.
  • Open YouTube Studio and note which videos got the most views and which kept people watching longest.
  • Write one decision for next week: one thing to do more of, or one thing to stop.

Rules for every upload this week

  • No spoilers in titles or thumbnails. Viewers punish them, and Rockstar's policy removes ending videos, cutscene compilations and big story reveals.
  • The first seven seconds: confirm what the title promised, and keep graphic violence out. Under YouTube's advertiser guidelines, graphic game violence in the first seven seconds or the thumbnail means no ads.
  • Your own commentary or editing in every video. Raw gameplay is treated as reused content.
  • Skip the story playthrough series. Viewers watch it from creators they already follow.

If you want the whole path in order, LaunchPlay's six-step guide goes further: a 30-day plan with launch week built in, a search list method, title, thumbnail and script templates for each role, and the pre-publish check for every upload. It is an unofficial guide for beginner creators, a one-time US$19.90, and it does not promise income.

Questions

What should I post on GTA 6 launch day?

Record your first session, note every question you have as a new player, and post one Short. If being first is part of your plan, publish one short answer video the same day with the question's exact words in the title.

How many videos should a small channel post in GTA 6 launch week?

There is no right number. A workable target is one to two videos a day plus Shorts cut from them, as long as each one answers a specific question and has your own commentary or editing.

When can I pre-load GTA 6?

Rockstar says players who pre-order digital versions can begin pre-loading on November 12. The unlock time for November 19 has not been announced by region.

Should I stream or upload during GTA 6 launch week?

Uploads are easier to be found with as a new channel, because people search for answers in launch week. Stream if live is part of your channel, and cut each stream into a video and Shorts.

Can I put GTA 6 story moments in my thumbnails?

Avoid it. Spoilers in titles and thumbnails annoy viewers, and Rockstar's posted policy removes videos built around big story reveals, endings and cutscene compilations.
